Orange County Metal Processing & PCA Metals Finishing

OCMP & PCA are adjacent former Metal finishing sites that operated to finish metal parts used by automobile, defense industry, aviation,  and computer manufacturers. Investigation work completed by regulatory agencies revealed that soils beneath the Sites are contaminated with cadmium, chromium, copper, zinc and VOCs. Predominant VOCs were tetrachloroethylene (PCE) and trichloroethylene (TCE). On August 11, 2011, the DTSC issued an Imminent and/or Substantial Endangerment Determination in order to protect the surrounding public health and the environment. NEC Group, as the DTSC contractor, designed, installed and operated and maintained an SVE at the Sites. Work included the construction of the SVE system, providing the equipment and field support for the SVE pilot testing, drilling and installation of soil vapor extraction wells and monitoring, collecting, profiling and removal of spent carbon from the sites. In addition, NEC Group excavated and removed for proper disposal over 3,000 Tons of Hexavalent Chromium and Cadmium contaminated soil.
